a simple journal of my thoughts and contemplations as I journey through the literature of the Early Church Fathers... feel free to join me :)

Dear Friends (for this is what I count you).
Welcome. I begin (again) my journey through the ancient texts of those who have actively and with their whole beings sought Christ, knew Him. And where better to begin than with my motives for such a sojourn.
Why? Because there is a part of me that continually longs to shout, "JESUS!" All the while I still barely whisper in fear yet longing for Him. That part of me will not, cannot be filled by my husband, my puppy, my friends, my family, my past, my future. And that is why. I thirst for the Living Word. I hunger for the Word to be made Alive in me.
So where will I start? At the beginning, duh. Which book? Undecided. Where will I end? The feet of the risen Lord. And as I begin this ... this walk/run/marathon/mad dash... I invite you to join. But if we are to be traveling partners, there are a couple things you must know:
Hello! I am a human. I have made mistakes and will make more. I strive to understand the Scriptures, but being that I am (as stated before) human... I will misunderstand them time and again. But that is the beauty of traveling together, is it not? I need help, and (unless you are apart of the zombie takeover-- joking, joking!) so do you. I also have a family (husband and diva puppy), a job, and household to take care of aka: I don't have a lot of time on my hands. But with that knowledge, I will try to write as often as I can. I hope to hear from you as well.
May the Lord bless our journey and may our lives be ready for the change that it shall bring about.
Simply His.
